Christianville Tribune: Christian's Best Friends Festival- Steven Day

The Christianville Tribune
November 20, 2009-Newsletter # 14

Today, November 20 was Steven Day, the final day of Christian’s Best Friends Festival. Steven Day honors My Best Friend, Steven Vandeneykel. On Steven Day, the last event of the festival before the closing of the festival doors is The Tigger Parade. You see, Steven really likes Tigger; So, I made a parade for Tigger and him. The parade had a lot of creative floats like one about a balloon Tigger hanging over Friends St., Tigger himself, and a couple of Steven’s Friends including Carly Patterson. And, people were surprised to see her, in fact Jonathon from Syracuse, NY said “Wow! Carly Paterson is here! I haven’t seen her since the Olympics in Athens” and Carly herself told everyone at the festival. “It’s great to be in Christianville, it’s such a wonderful city to visit and I am honored to be here”. After parade was over, they closed the festival doors on Friends St. and that was the end of the 5th Annual Christian’s Best Friends Festival. After the festival was over, the rest of the day was a Metro-Wide holiday.

Thank You for tuning in for my reporting on the 5th Annual Christian’s Best Friends Festival. I can’t wait to report on it in 2010!

Christianville Tribune: Christian's Best Friends Festival- Whitney Day

The Christianville Tribune
November 19, 2009-Newsletter # 13

Today, November 19 was Whitney Day of Christian’s Best Friends Festival. Whitney Day is honoring my childhood friend, Whitney Herrick. On Whitney Day they close the streets in Downtown Christianville so, people can walk around and see things that they don’t when they’re busy driving. Whitney day according to The Christianville Teen, a local newspaper for Metro Area teens says that Whitney Day is the favorite day of Christian’s Best Friends Festival behind Michael Day, the kickoff day of the festival. Now, the reactions of people certainly tell us that, what they said was right. In fact, Alex, a Teen from The Christmas District said “Man, The Christianville Teen was right. Whitney Day is the coolest day of the festival. I mean, you can walk all the streets of D-town Christianville and see things that I wouldn’t when driving past It.” so, that was what happened today. I will be reporting tomorrow on Steven Day, the last day of The 5th Annual Christian’s Best Friends Festival

Today, November 18 was Meredith Day of Christian’s Best Friends Festival. Meredith Day is in honor of my childhood friend, Meredith Herrick. On Meredith Day, we come back to Friends St. in Downtown Christianville. The event on Meredith Day is called Meredith’s Fun Fair. Meredith’s Fun Fair is a lot like the fair in Brooke yesterday, only it’s on Friends St. The reactions on Meredith Day were pretty good and of course, Bryan and Holly, the famous festival couple was there. Here are some of the reactions on Meredith Day; 4-year old Gram from Brooke said “This is soo cool! I don’t know what ride to go on first!” it turned out that the first ride he picked was a loop upside down ride and afterwards, he said it was worth it. And, the final person we heard from was Stephan from The Historic District, he said “Meredith Day is really cool and I got to meet the reporter from one of the local stations“. So, that was what happened today. I will be report on Whitney Day, tomorrow when they close all the streets in Downtown Christianville.

Today, November 17 was Brooke Day of Christian’s Best Friends Festival. Brooke Day is in honor of my childhood friend, Brooke Herrick. This festival is the only day when the festival is not on Friends St. On Brooke Day, there was a fair in Downtown Brooke called The Christian Smith and Brooke Herrick Fair. So, here’s what happened. During the Fair, the famous festival couple that I told you about yesterday was there celebrating their getting-together anniversary of 4 Years with their now 2 year old daughter, Carol. While there, They greeted the people coming to the Christian Smith and Brooke Herrick Fair and a lot of people were very happy to see them and some were surprised when they see saw them. Like Paul of North Chester said “Bryan and Holly! It’s soo great to see you guys!” and later he added “I remember how you guys got together…” as he went on explain the entire story of them getting together. Bryan and Holly finally decided that Paul should hang out with them. Because after all as Holly says “He was a pretty devoted fan, so, why not?” After they greeted the people, they had a meet and greet so; people could ask them questions about them and their relationship. Most of the question were about whether or not they were going to have another baby but, Holly politely said No. so, that was what happened today at Brooke Day. Tomorrow we will return to Friends St. in Downtown Christianville and I will report on that tomorrow.

November 16, 2009- Newsletter # 10

Ok, Christianville. It’s Best Friends Festival time again. This festival goes from November 16-20. This Year’s festival is the 5th Annual Christian’s Best Friend Festival. This Festival is held on Friend St. in Downtown Christianville (except for Brooke Day, which is held is Downtown Brooke) you see, my friends are very important to me and my idea of honoring them is to have this festival. See, I pick the friends I want to honor and I have a day for them and I give them a theme for that day. So, Today November 16 is Michael Day which is in honor of My Brother. So, here’s what happened today. First, to kick off the festival was The City of Christianville Band and they walk through the Festival door. Then, they introduce The US, Tennessee, and The City of Christianville Flags. Following that is the Presentation of Friends Made of The Year. During this they first introduce the friends by which have a themed day and they are My Brother Michael, Childhood Friends Brooke, Meredith, and Whitney Herrick, and finally ends with My Best Friend Steven Vandeneyekel. After that, they introduced the Friends that were made in 2009. 2009’s New Friends included PTLS Moms Sherry Attaway and Christine Catrone, My Mom’s Friend Linda Bastida, and a couple friends from Special Olympics Bowling who are Joseph Estes and Kevin Levay. And, then after that was the Parade of Michael Centeno. Here are some of the reactions during Michael Day. Joe from Maplewood said “Michael Day is really cool and I can’t believe that The Best Friends Festival has been going on for 5 Years, Wow! And Sarah from Geography HS says “I heard that that Festival Couple Bryan and Holly will be at the festival tomorrow! I’ll be happy to see them” and, that is what happened today. I will be reporting on Brooke Day tomorrow. By the way, if you’re wondering about the festival couple, they are a made-up couple that got together at the festival on Brooke Day which is tomorrow in 2006 and they ended up falling in love and later raising a family in April of 2007.

Christianville Tribune: Local Changes Take Effect

The Christianville Tribune

A couple weeks ago, A big change happend to 2 things in The Christianville Metro Area. And, I'm writing this to tell you it. First off, the popular Christianville Metro Radio Station, 97.9 KMKI has changed it's call letters because of the fact that the company that runs KMKI moved to the East of the Mississippi River from where it was and now, it's company if stationed on Brooke, TN. The reason, the company states is because of the rule that Radio Station and TV Stations east of the Mississippi must have their call letters start with W. So, therefore 97.9 KMKI is now 97.9 WSKY. The second change is with the school system in The Christianville Area. Both Christianville and Brooke's school system changed their named from an Independent School District to a Public School System. so, Christianville ISD is now Christianville Public Schools and Brooke ISD is the Brooke Public Schools. People's recations to these changes has been pretty good. but, With the radio station change, people are still getting used too it because that station has been KMKI for a long time and now, it's time for something new.
